In order to stimulate innovation in the country, Poland continues to use the opportunities of various economic mechanisms and strategic international partnerships. Using EU € 10 million structural change funds specifically designed to improve the innovation process, the Polish government is developing new strategies to ensure the overall effectiveness of new and ongoing innovation initiatives. Recognizing the fact that public spending to support innovation in the private sector has not been used as efficiently as expected, the Polish authorities are looking for new uses for these funds. As part of this process, the Ministry of Regional Development of Poland has engaged the World Bank through a fee-based advisory services program (VCU) to develop and evaluate strategic and operational documents that can form the basis of the country's national and regional innovation policy until 2020, taking into account the new rational concept of specialization developed by the European Commission.

These new relationships demonstrate the Polish government's determination to go beyond previous initiatives and seek new opportunities that have great potential for transforming innovation within the country and the region as a whole. The recent seminar, held on 28 June by the Government of Poland and representatives of the World Bank Group, is a good example of this new line of work. The seminar, which aimed to present the first results of the Bank's review of national and regional innovation strategies based on the concept of rational specialization and to analyze the effectiveness of specific methods that could potentially be used in Poland to stimulate innovation growth, was attended by senior officials and policy makers. from Europe and other regions, including Israel and Chile. By expanding its membership to include representatives from other regions, Poland has demonstrated its commitment to looking at innovation in a broader context, learning from international best practices for disseminating innovation at the global level.

European integration is the main and constant foreign policy priority of Ukraine, and further development and deepening of relations between Ukraine and the EU is carried out on the principles of political association and economic integration.

The main strategic documents for achieving these goals are the Association Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, on the other hand, and the EU-Ukraine Association Agenda.

The Association Agreement defines a qualitatively new format of relations between Ukraine and the EU and serves as a strategic guideline for systemic socio-economic reforms in Ukraine, and the deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU , which is part of the Agreement, defines the legal basis , capital, as well as regulatory approximation aimed at the gradual entry of Ukraine's economy into the EU common market.

An effective platform for cooperation at the regional level has been established within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Transport Panel, the main purpose of which is to assist in improving transport links between the EU and its immediate neighbors.

Transport networks and services play a key role in improving the quality of life of the country's citizens and in increasing opportunities for industrial development. Therefore, transport is one of the key areas of EU-Ukraine cooperation, and according to Article 368 of the Association Agreement, the main purpose of such cooperation is to promote the restructuring and renewal of Ukraine's transport sector and the gradual harmonization of existing EU standards and policies.
